As I look out the window in my corner of the office, I see a perfect day for a light snowfall. Yes, I said the "s" word... I have already witnessed a few flakes falling here and there over the past few days, but there is that excitement that starts to stir in your spirit for that first significant snowfall and for the time of year that is right around the corner... That's right, its time to move into that Christmas mindset. This year, however, I challenge you to not rush by thanksgiving. It really can be more than a meal, if you give yourself the opportunity to reflect and truly be thankful for what the Lord has done in your life and for the blessings as well as the trials. In a nation where nothing is certain these days and the system that so many had put their hopes for a future in failing them, its a great time to sit back and reflect on God's promises to his children.
This year, please remember to give thanks for Bay Shore Camp and the on-going ministry that God has allowed us to continue, but also remember to keep us in your prayers. We feel the financial troubles here too, but one great promise we all have as Christians is that God will never leave us nor forsake us. If we remember to put our trust in the Lord, He will get us thru the times that lie ahead.
Our prayer is that as the holiday season approaches, that all of our Bay Shore Family, "being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all of the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and keep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." -Ephesians 3:17-19
