Twilight

So today is the day that so many young girls have been waiting for. The opening day of Twilight. Now, I have not read these books, but they do interest me. Actually, because of our position in ministry, it always interests me when there is a new fad out for youth.

The other day I was listening to a young girl talk about the movie and why she was so into it, and she said something along the lines of it being because the hero/vampire showed her what a real man should be like, a protector.

These girls are drawn to "Edward" because he is a protector. You could say the same about God. He is our ultimate protector. But God does a lot more than just protect us. He also watches over us and directs us and provides for us. He is our Father and cares for us as one. And if females want the best example to look for, they should fix their eyes on Jesus.

I probably will venture out to see Twilight at some point, just to see what all the hype is about. But for now, I will rest in comfort knowing that my God and Savior watches over me, as with the rest of his children.
